I think I am in danger of stereotyping Minnesota in my mind.

In my mind, Minnesota is the land where strangers smile at you, where things are described as "rustic" and "quaint," and where life goes at a slower pace.

While each of these have some ring of truth to them, they are definitely not facts. Strangers do not necessarily smile at you, and there are the same amount of rude people as there are everywhere else. As for "rustic" and "quaint"--well, certain parts are both, but for the most part, people are just as cutting-edge as are people found all over America. Life goes at the same pace as well.

Nostalgia colors things and distorts them... I love New York, but I miss Minnesota.
