There is nothing to make you feel rich like spending an afternoon in Bergdorf's. There is nothing to make you feel richer than getting offered a free "phacial" from the staff at Erno Laszlo. Oh yeah. And all this after lunch at Le Cirque 2000, the restaurant I mentioned in a previous post. I felt the food a trifle too salted, from the soup to the entree of salmon en croute. The dessert was also too rich, but good. Chocolate fondant, delicious!
After our (Suzanne and I) Bergdorf mooching, where we sniped like a couple of fishwives over fashion. Honestly, much of fashion is highly questionable. But our favorite: Zac Posen. Le sigh. Oh yes, and the gowns! Badgley Mischka, etc. I wanted to try them on, but felt as it was my first excursion to Bergdorf's, I ought not push it. Our dinner was at Gobo's, a vegan restaurant that was DELICIOUS. We had this slow cooked Malaysian stew (I forgot the exact name--wait, roti canai?), yam & yucca fries (YUMMM), and ginger glazed shittake. And the cranberry bread to start with was wonderful because they gave us a sweet potato raisin spread with it. I will most definitely be eating there again! Good prices too.
