This is late in coming, but hurrah for Massachusetts and their Supreme Court's decision! I don't understand the furor over gay marriage. I honestly don't. Maybe someone who is level headed and anti gay marriage can pop me an e-mail? I'd like to hear your position.

Gay people pay their taxes like everyone else, and if they choose to marry, I don't see the problem. All I hear from the conservatives who oppose gay marriage is that "The family, built on the union of male and female, is the foundation of society" (Time magazine, Feb. 16, page 59). Okay, so from what I'm understanding in that quote is that they are afraid that there will be no more male-female relationships if gay marriage is approved? Or something to that extent? What a silly argument. First, gay relationships have been accepted for a while now, and I don't see any decrease in the human population and in heterosexual relations. In fact, I'm pretty sure that our world population is growing. Second, of course, the union of male and female is the foundation of society, but that has absolutely nothing to do with whether gay marriage ought to be legalized. It's not as though we are de-sanctifying marriage by allowing gays to participate. Third, marriage these days is such a sham, with a 50-60% divorce rate, that I don't see it as being all that holy.

I think I've covered most of my ranting there. So, I'd like to understand the anti gay marriage position. Level headed person e-mail me.
